Who are we

High Country Hamlets is an LTO - Local Tourism Organisation.
Our RTO- Regional Tourism Organisation, is Queensland Country Tourism.

We are a membership-based body that plays a role in marketing and developing our high country region north of Toowoomba to grow tourism and the economy in our region.

Our geographical footprint encompasses the small towns (Hamlets) and centring from Hampton, North from Crows Nest to Cooyar. South from Cabarlah to Highfields, East from Ravensbourne to Pechey, West from Meringandan to Goombungee,

We are a volunteer run incorporated community group and meet for general meetings, networking and social events.

The HCH Micro Region has a special foodie and hospitality subculture resulting from its geographical and historical blessings. A combination of altitude, distinctive seasons and red soil allows farming to flourish in our region. Our history of an area of family-owned small farms continues to be reflected in a regional passion for growing high-quality produce and creating artisan food products.

We offer generous country hospitality set in the refreshing air of the high country. The produce and products inspire regional chefs, as well as being available for purchase at farm gates, markets and local outlets.

The HCH Micro Region is also home and stimulus for an impressive enclave of artists, craftspeople, boutique retailers, healthy living & ramnge of services scattered across the region.

There is a collection of accommodation options, which include unique glamping retreats, tourist parks, motels, boutique cottages, luxury chalets and houses and a vibrant and desirable wedding and event scene, with venues being able to cater for small boutique events to large group event options.
