The Whispering Seat

Did you know there is a whispering seat in Centenary Park in Crows Nest?

If you & a friend, sit at either end of this seat & whisper, you will hear your conversation quite clearly.

It’s a delightful design by Richard Jones, of Cloudlake Ravensbourne, who designed the park & its gorgeous gardens for Crows Nest.

And another fun fact is that the town of Crows Nest is one of three towns in Australia that is built around their Central Park.

A central feature of the parkland is the war memorial which commemorates soldiers who lost their life in service during the First World War and the Second World War. Memorial events are held here in the park, including Anzac Day & Remembrance Day.

We happened to see a rehearsal here this morning, in readiness for 11.11. at 11am.

When you visit the High Country Hamlets, be sure to try the whispering seat & take a quiet moment to remember them.
